I am an award-winning, multidisciplinary artist based in London, working across painting, film, photography, and installation. My art explores cultural memory, identity, and gender issues.
My professional career began fifteen years ago and was shaped by BA and MA studies, which challenged and inspired me to expand my artistic and theoretical knowledge. This journey culminated in a Professional Doctorate in Fine Arts, which I successfully obtained from the University of East London in 2021.
A few years ago, my vision deteriorated drastically. I now perceive the world through blurred, overlapping silhouettes, experiencing a constant double-vision effect. Rather than retreat, I chose to embrace it as a conceptual framework for my work. Superimposition became central to my practice, reflecting how I now process visual information. By layering images, I create works in which multiple meanings coexist; two images form a third, symbolic one, encouraging viewers to engage through memory, metaphor, and semiotic association. My imagery is meticulously composed and often characterised by a classical aesthetic infused with poetic, romantic undertones.
My latest project, Dialogue, explores the intersection of past and present, reinterpreting historical themes of gender inequality and the female role in society through a contemporary lens. In this series, I superimpose iconic Old Masters paintings with self-portraits interwoven with elements of floral still life. The recurring motif of flowers and the female figure symbolises two intertwined forces: both nurturing and life-giving; offering a poetic reflection on strength, femininity, and transformation.
