Belinha Silva is a contemporary Portuguese artist, born in Lisbon and living in Albufeira, Algarve. From an early age, drawing and painting were an essential part of her daily life, and her talent was recognised through awards in children’s art competitions. Although she initially pursued a European career in finance, artistic creation remained a constant inner calling.
In 2005, during her first art workshop in Brussels, Belinha experienced what she calls “The Revelation” a decisive moment when creation became a necessity rather than a choice. From that point on, she committed herself fully to her artistic practice as a self-taught artist, guided by intuition and emotion.
Her work moves fluidly between surrealism, abstraction, and pop art, developing a distinctive visual language rich in symbolism, texture, and colour. Influenced by travel, cultural roots, and personal memory, her art reveals hidden narratives beneath its surface. Many abstract works initially appear spontaneous, yet closer observation unveils detailed worlds with allegorical figures.
Belinha explores a wide range of mediums, including drawing, watercolour, acrylic and oil painting, porcelain painting, sculpture, and jewellery design. She is the creator of the innovative mixed-media technique Porcelain Fusion on Canvas, which integrates hand-painted, kiln-fired porcelain fragments into painted canvases, creating luminous three-dimensional compositions.
Exhibiting internationally since 2020, Belinha Silva has received 14 International Art Awards. She was appointed Art Ambassador of Portugal in 2024 and honoured International Artist of the Year in 2025. Her work reflects her belief that art is a bridge between memory, beauty and human experience.
