Alexander Dakers is a Scottish-born artist whose work is defined by strong visual impact, emotional depth, and a sustained commitment to humanitarian and human rights causes. Throughout his career, Dakers has used his artistic talent to support those in need, collaborating with organisations including Amnesty International, Dorset Blind, and orphanage schools across Africa. His human rights–focused work can also be seen exhibited within the Human Rights offices in Glasgow, London and Edinburgh, reinforcing his belief that art can act as a catalyst for awareness and social change.

Dakers’ practice is diverse in subject matter and technique, with oil painting at its core. He is recognised for his use of powerful, expressive colour and layered textures that communicate vulnerability, resilience, and the complexities of the human condition. His paintings often balance personal narrative with universal themes, inviting viewers to engage emotionally and reflectively.

In recent years, Dakers has gained notable international recognition. He placed 7th at the New York Art Expo, achieved 3rd place at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, and finished 4th at the Tokyo Art Fair. In 2024, he was awarded Scotland’s Number 1 Exhibition for Fathers and Sons, a deeply personal work dedicated to his late father, Alexander Stewart Dakers. The piece explores themes of legacy, identity, and the enduring bond between generations.

Through his socially engaged practice, international achievements, and emotionally resonant work, mostly portraits, Alexander Dakers merits recognition among the Persona Art Honours 2025 Best 50 International Artists.
