Krystyna Vinogorodska’s work unfolds within an in-between space — between choice and hesitation, memory and premonition, what has already occurred and what is still seeking form.

For her, painting becomes a passage through time: not a representation of external reality, but a field of inner experience where the image does not explain, but attunes, revealing subtle and shifting states of being.

Time is central to her practice. It is not linear or measurable, but internal and subjective — capable of compression, rupture, and return. In the series Game with Time, time appears both as an interlocutor and a force of play: at once demanding and merciful. Recurring motifs such as dice, voids, and softened distortions of form function as signs of chance and fate, inviting a return to lived experience not to erase pain, but to transform it.

Her paintings engage themes of choice without moralizing, vulnerability without dramatization, and hope without illusion. Vinogorodska is drawn to the moment before decision, before language, before form becomes fixed — a liminal zone where pause, redirection, and softness persist as acts of quiet resistance.

She understands the artist’s role as that of a keeper of meanings rather than a producer of answers. Each work exists not as a closed object, but as a passage — an open field in which the viewer becomes a participant, encountering personal time, memory, and inner movement beyond habitual narratives.
