I wear many creative hats: International award-winning contemporary artist, color theorist, marketing consultant, instructor and color therapist. I live in the finger lakes region of New York, USA, in a beautiful town called Ithaca. After studying art at Alfred University, I received a degree in Business Administration from Corning Community College, a BS in Marketing and an MS in Liberal Studies with a focus on media from SUNY Empire State College. A 'forever student', I next sought out a a certificate in Interior Design from Interior Design Institute and most recently, got certified in color therapy from the School of Complementary Therapies. For almost 17 years I was an Advertising Manager for Gannett Newspaper Division and Corporate Relations Director for Johnson at Cornell University. I now teach color theory, marketing, painting and color therapy. My custom designed vibrant paintings can be found in homes and offices all over the world and have appeared in several books on international contemporary artists. Visit my Cayuga Heights, Ithaca, NY, studio during the Greater Ithaca Art trail in October or by appointment. Interested in taking a class? Check out my Workshops page.

My latest artworks are a continued exploration of the psychology of art from my graduate studies. I've explored how color affects the brain and how science and digital technology have influenced how we perceive images. I'm fascinated by how color can heal as a form of therapy. Color has tremendous expressive qualities that can alter our moods. My art also focuses on advocating for climate change awareness. I use exuberant colors, textures, shapes, and space. When creating artwork, I select colors in highly distinctive aesthetic patterns. My process involves several layers of acrylic and oil paint on canvas or birch board which is often emblazoned by metallic and iridescent overlays, glitter, gold leaf and mixed media. I often apply a clear coat of high gloss polymer epoxy resin (I use a blow torch during this process!) that offers the duality of sealing in the artwork while making the colors pop by reflecting light. The result is a luxurious composite that is full of energy and captivating interplay of colors.
